The Church needs A Spiritual Leader
In a workshop I attended several years ago on Church Sociology I learned that a church greatly reflected the primal tribe in makeup. Each tribe had a political/war chief, and a Shaman, spiritual leader. Many times these two vied for power in the tribe. It was a great deal like the church/state syndrome that exists on national scale today. In the church community this pattern surely exists as there are political power leaders, and the clergy in each congregation. The same struggle still exists.

How street smart are you?
Too many clergy shoot themselves in the foot before they get on board with their people due to a lack of understanding of their congregation. Before you make leadership moves … know your congregation.
How do you do it?
Access Church records and study them. What names do you see on several committees? What persons seem to succeed themselves over and over again? Who are the people on the power committees: Finance, Staff, and Property committees? These persons are usually the power people in your church. Get to know who they are and the level ...<< MORE >>
